In a school 30% of year 10 students are boys. Of these 25% chose to take PE GCSE. Given there are 240 students in year 10 how many boys chose PE GCSE?

Answer :

So there are 240 students in the class

And if 30% are boys that means

[tex] \frac{30}{100} \times 240 = 72[/tex]

so out of the 72 boys if 25% take it

[tex]72 \times \frac{25}{100} = \frac{72}{4} = 18[/tex]

Ans: 18 boys take PE GCSE
