Answer :

samori ture led a resistance movement against the French in West Africa

Samory Touré was an African conqueror who came to create a great empire in West Africa. His attempts to impose Islam in the area and, above all, his aggressive opposition to French colonization, ended up bringing an end to his empire in 1898.

The greatest confrontation between the French and Samory took place in 1892. Trying to defeat Samori, in January of that year, Humbert launched an attack on the central part of his empire, with 1,300 carefully chosen shooters and 3,000 porters. To confront Humbert, Samori personally took command of his army of 2,500 men chosen for the case. But, although these men fought valiantly, they were defeated and Humbert managed to capture Bisandougou, Sanankoro and Kerwane. It is important to note, however, that Humbert himself admitted that the results were very poor compared to the serious losses he had suffered. In addition, Samory had ordered the population to withdraw before the advance of the French troops.
