Why were Copernicus's ideas about the order of the universe deemed to be dangerous to Church thinking? (5 points)

Answer :

Copernicus dared to disprove and question the authority of the church. During his time, the church was THE governing body in nearly all areas of life.

Copernicus's idea about the order of the universe was deemed dangerous to Church thinking because Churches believed Earth to be at the center of the universe but Copernicus stated that Sun was at the center of the universe.

What is the universe?

The whole cosmic system of matter and energy of which Earth, and therefore the human race, is a part is called the universe. The earliest  models of the universe were developed by ancient Greek and Indian philosophers, placing Earth at the center. Over the centuries, more precise astronomical observations led Nicolaus Copernicus to develop the heliocentric model with the Sun at the center of the Solar System.
