Answer:

Why it is Farm-Raised meat is better than CAFOS

Explanation:

I believe that free-ranged or "Farm-Raised" meat is much better than factory produced. Farm-raised animals are humanely treated and are set free do natural behaviors like as eating grass, and running freely. If the animals are allowed these natural behaviors it may enhance the quality of their meat, dairy and eggs.

Almost all factory farm animals are raised in small spaces, restricted exercise and suffer long bouts of transportation. They often sit in their own urine and feces for hours at a time. They jam packed into cages and pens. Animals like cows, chickens, turkeys and pigs can't do their everday normal behaviours, like rooting and grazing. Being in cages for so long without exercise and sunlight leads to disease. This will decrease quality of the meat  and increase the risk for illness.

Farm-raised animals are produced without the use of pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics. This allows the products to be full of nutrients and much healthier. An overuse of antibiotics in the animals meat can cause antibiotic resistance among people consuming the factory-farmed meat. When antibiotics are made less effective, the health of certain populations like elderly, medically vulnerable and children is compromised. Not only that but the consumption of hormone treated animal products may cause hormonal issues among humans and increase the risk of cancer.

On the other (better) hand grass fed, farm-raised animals have significantly higher levels of omega-3s, antioxidants, minerals, andso many more important nutrients. Eggs from pastured hens can contain as much as 20 times more omega-3s than eggs from factory hens. This is a major plus to our health as humans.

In America in the last couple years there has been a decline of the free ranged meat. Now its just quicker and easier to have h huge factory farms that will keep thousands of animals penned up. It's it better to just let them be free? For us as humans and for the animals themselves?
