As a wildlife biologist the use of : Forward looking infrared sensing ( FLIRS) and  Aerial counts, can be used to estimate the number of coyotes in a nearby forest.

i) Aerial counts  are carried out with the use of helicopter whereby a wildlife biologist observer takes notes of the presence of coyotes or coyote signs ( like their habitat ) from the sky. this is useful to avoid coming in direct contact with coyotes due to its predictor nature.

ii) FLIRS is a new method attached to a low flying plane ,used to capture the presence of coyotes in an area. where by the images of coyotes in an area will be capture in video format.

Coyotes' population size is expressed as either a population density or in relative abundance of the species. Coyotes feed on animals ( predators) and it is very important to determine the number of coyotes available in an area because this gives an insight to the rate of loss of livestock in that area.

Hence we can conclude that as a wildlife biologist you can make use of Aerial count and Forward looking Infra-red sensing
