What inferences can you make about her upbringing from this quote?
“There were too many rules to follow, too many forbiddens and ‘you can’ts” and ‘you mustn’ts,’ but does anyone have time to say they love you? Not in my family we didn’t”.
It was strict a family and because of that they weren’t a close one, they’d spent more time worrying that their children would be doing the wrong things than being concerned as to if as parents they were showing them what compassion was. They likely were just not as much as a parent should show to their child. (Hope that helps some maybe change it a bit but otherwise good luck ;))
