Nicki found her old shoes . " Mom " she called , " I found my old high tops under the bed . I want to wear them to school . " Those old things ? " said her mother . " Do they still fit ? " Nicki looked at the shoes . They were dirty with old mud and pen marks . She and Rasha wrote all over them last year . Both shoes had big holes near the toe . The shoelaces were broken . Nicki smiled . She loved her high tops . " Sure they Nicki . She pushed one foot into its shoe . Ouch ! That was tight !
