topic 2 -Because he sees the monster's grotesque outer appearence and immediately is embarrassed by his own creation. Therefore, Frankenstein hated the monster before he even knew what the monster was capable of
id pick topic 2 because it creates the image in your head of how frankenstein was considering the monster his enemy even though he was the one to  create the monster he was disgusted with what he made. so you automatically create the conflict that is held down in just this one sentence.
