1381:tension generated by the black death 1340's: high taxes resulting from conflict with France during the 100 years war & the instability of the leadership of London May 30th 1381: John Bampton in Essex attempted to collect unpaid taxes in Brentwood and it ended in violence which spread South East of the country.
