The type of plot structure that allows authors to go into specific detail about key events and reveal more about the characters through their reactions to conflict is known as episodic plot structure. In it, the author uses multiple chapters/episodes to develop his characters.
Parallel means that there would be both past and present and perhaps future events, which doesn't reveal that much about the reactions. In medias res means to go to the center of the story, which also doesn't really tell us much. Flash-forward is to skip a lot of the events, which is not the correct answer either.
