I think it depends on the type of person, if they're lying they will show what people call a 'tell' a tell is what someone does if they're lying, like lip their lips, or bite their nails, look to the left or look down or right! If the tell is obvious enough, the officer might be able to tell. Again, it depends on the type of person! Hoped this helped a bit!
