"But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun."
-from Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet"
What type of figurative language is found within this literary example?

A. simile

B. metaphor

C. personification

D. irony

Answer :

It doesn't matter what direction Romeo is facing.  The soft light that he sees through the window is as beautiful as a sunrise (you know, in the East, ever been up that early?)

Is Juliet the sun?  It's not a simile, Juliet is not similar to the sun, not like the sun.  Juliet IS the sun.
What a perfect example of a metaphor.
